Le Farnete - Barco Reale DOC 2016

The wine bears its name from a 52-kilometer-long and two-meter-high stone wall, which Cosimo III defined as a border for cultivation as early as 1716, thus creating one of the first protected designation of origin.

For the last harvest grapes were cultivated for Barco Reale di Carmignano only on 14 hectares.

For the Barco Reale di Carmignano, Le Farnete only uses Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes are harvested separately and fermented separately in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks.

After completion of the malolactic fermentation, the wine is blended and matured for several months in stainless steel tanks before being bottled and sold.
