Speri - Valpolicella Classico Superiore Appasimento SANT URBANO DOC 2012

Valpolicella are red wines from the region east of Lake Garda and are developed as a cuvée of local grapes. There are usually light, fruity wines with good acidity which is served in the region with the meals. Unfortunately the reputation of these exciting wines was damaged by a few mass producers.

For the Sant Urbano, grapes are dried from the best crude location in the historic Valpolicella Classico area as for an Amarone.

During these 30 days the grapes lose 8-10% moisture. The wine is matured for 18-24 months in 500l barrels from French Allier oak and another 6 months in the bottle.
