Rizzi - Barbaresco RIZZI DOCG 2011
Today the family business of son Enrico and daughter Jole, founded by Ernesto Dellapiana in 1974, is managed.
Enrico, with his education at the wine school Turin and Alba, takes care of the vineyards and the wine cellar.
For the Barbaresco Rizzi only Nebbiolo grapes from the approximately 8 ha of the Cru Rizzi are used. The ground, height and orientation in this cru is so diverse that this location is among the most famous of the Langhe.
The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand. The extraction and first fermentation takes place for 20-25 days temperature controlled in stainless steel, followed by the one-month organic acid degradation.
The ripening takes place for 12-15 months in large barrels of Slovenian oak, another 12 months in beton tanks and is then bottled. After reaching the total maturity of 36 months the wine goes on sale.
