The requirement of position and soil similar to Freisa grapes, like Nebbiolo, has almost led to their extermination. In addition, the wines from the rather rustic Freisa are usually developed as light and lean wines.
Vajra has undetected the potential of this grape and has redefined it from our point of view and is using the Kye to produce a strong and spicy wine which ripens for 12-18 months in barrique.
