Even though winegrowing in the Sarotto family can be traced back to the year 1870, the real story begins only very late. By 1950, the vineyards were the focus of the agricultural business, but by 1980, all grapes and wines were sold. When Roberto Sarotto completed his apprenticeship at the Turin / Alba wine school in 1990, the framework was set for complete self-production.

The focus was on Dolcetto, but also on Barbera, Freisa and Moscato. Only the purchase of vineyards in Barolo expanded the range. Today, Arneis, Chardonnay and Brachetto are also bottled for the customers in modern facilities.

But above all, Roberto's ideas of doing things differently, the revolutionary of the region. Following the vineyards in the Valpolicella, Nebbiolo is developed as an Appassimento or Arneis in the French style on the yeast as "Sur Lie".
