TENUTA TONDAIA – Civitella Toskana

 

Silvia Silvia Spinelli, born in 2005 by the oenologist Silvia Spinelli and her husband, Podere il Poggio - farm on the hill - has been operating since 2016 under the name of Tenuta Tondaia. Tondaia is an artistic word that has its origin in Tonda, the circle / round, and for Silvia the Maggie, round berries, sun, round barrels and rounded taste.

 

Tenuta Tondaia is located in the northern part of Tuscany Maremma and cultivates on a little more than 6 hectares of vines of the autochthonous Sangiovese, Trebbiano Toscana and Pugnitello varieties.

 

Silvia Spinelli is a kind of ambassador for the red grape Pugnitello rediscovered in Cinigano, southwest of Montalcino in 1981, which is grown by only fifteen winemakers.
